No More Limits
People say dream big, but I say think right and dream big. This is because most people dream big with greed and the desire to show off as their goal. I think for someone to dream big, you need to have the right intentions/motives and right actions, then start from where you are(small) with the little you have and patiently walk through the journey, you keep topping up your strength and resources while on the job. Do not just dream big without positive actions in place, this is what leads people to desire something and instead of acting on their dreams they start grabbing other people’s possession due to a lack of patience.
To dream big in a positive manner, you need to have patience, allow yourself to work from the scratch, let your dream or growth follow due process. Do not be in a hurry to actualize your dreams else you will stall. Do not be in a rush to acquire quick wealth that will not last.
You do not need the whole world to start. A day begins a story. “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” — Zig Ziglar
Stop the excuses and complaints, start with what is available to you. There is this young man, he graduated from university and he couldn’t get a job, with the little in his hands he started street hawking( clothes) on all the busy roads in the town, people got to know him and he also saved up for a small wheelie truck that he pushes around with the clothes hanging on the truck, the last time he was seen was in a rented shop, and he does not have just one shop but 3 boutiques to his name. “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence”. Martin Luther King. There is dignity in an honest business no matter how dirty or small.
The fact is that people are clueless about the amount of strength and capabilities they carry because they are yet to activate those dormant abilities. So, stop doubting, you can never know a thing until you give it a try. God knows what you can do, that is why He gave you such abilities. You need to put them to good use. You are the only one that can bring yourself out and rise above those doubts and insecurities around you. The bible says, “Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” Mathew 7:7.
You can climb that ladder progressively to the top. Stop dreaming without action, dream with an action plan in place and follow up your dream until it is actualized. You do not need all the knowledge; you will learn as you go on in the journey and develop the skills along the way. All you need is will-power, the right mind, and basic knowledge.
Keep digging until you strike gold until you hit the target, do not rush it, it is an endurance walk, however, always know when to rest.
So, enough of dreaming for quick wealth and success, it is good if it is legal and rightly achieved, but most times it is not authentic. You must believe in your dreams by putting actions in place to reaching that goal. And have confidence in God and yourself. “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6.
Your beginning may not be perfect because you do not need to be perfect to start. If you are that perfect, I do not think you will be where you are now. The reason why we go into things most times being imperfect is that it is meant to groom us and make us come out perfect while on the job. God does not call the equipped, He equips the called. “For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption”1Corinthians 1:26-30.
It is time to leave your comfort zone. Do not get too comfortable on that table of excuses, you are inexcusable, if you doubt me check out these people:
- Moses: he once killed (this does not justify the act at all), he also had speech problems and as a result, he lacked the confidence to speak publicly,
- Abraham: he was old, and he once doubted God.
- Rahab; was a prostitute.
- Samaritan woman; was divorced so many times.
In all their flaws God gave them a second chance and used them to fulfill their purpose.
To achieve your dreams, you need to be disciplined in character and words. You need no one’s approval but God’s and your will-power.
Do not look at how successful people are and compare yourself with their success, only look at their success as a tool to benchmark your success. You do not need to be competitive, do your thing, and walk your success story distinctively and you will be glad you did.
